Right at the beginning of the pandemic, International Market Centers, LLC had the vision to create a more online shopping experience for its buyers and sellers in the form of a new entity called “Juniper Commerce.”
IMC was formed in 2011 through a partnership between funds affiliated with Bain Capital and Oaktree Capital Management, consolidating showroom spaces in High Point, North Carolina, and Las Vegas, Nevada. By 2018, IMC merged with AmericasMart Atlanta, creating the world’s largest owner and operator of premier showroom space for furniture, gift, home décor, rug, and apparel industries. This merger expanded its footprint to over 20 million square feet across Atlanta, High Point, Las Vegas, and later New York City.
In January 2020, IMC introduced its IMC_Digital Innovations division under the brand name Juniper. This platform offered a suite of B2B digital sales and marketing solutions, including a wholesale digital marketplace, SaaS enablement tools, branded e-commerce websites, and showroom enhancement technology. The goal was to seamlessly connect physical and digital commerce channels, responding to the growing demand for online wholesale solutions amid the global shift to digital platforms during the COVID-19 pandemic.
